Matt Wright

Matt has a passion to partner with churches and nonprofits to help them walk in alignment with mission. After working in the marketplace, Matt began vocational ministry in church leadership and worship with a natural focus to help ‘aim’ churches through strategic planning and direction. Most recently, Matt served as the Executive Pastor at Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago, IL. Prior to his role as XP, he launched and was the Lead Pastor for Willow Creek’s South Lake Campus, and the Executive Pastor for Willow Creek’s North Shore campus. As well as being a Senior Associate in the Senior Leadership and Experience Divisions at Slingshot Group, Matt has served for several years as a coach with Intentional Churches and has coached many churches and nonprofits across multiple denominations, both in the US and abroad. His collective experience intersects in a unique way as he helps build remarkable teams to move churches forward. Matt and his wife Christa have three boys and reside in the Chicago area.
