Church or Org Description
Park Community Church began over 32 years ago in the community of Lincoln Park with a mission to engage people in the city of Chicago with the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ. The first 20 years of Park’s existence were incredibly formative as this church began to sink its roots deep into into the heart of the city. As the Lord continued to bless, Park continued to expand their reach.
One of the most significant distinctives of Park is their mission to know God and to make Him known IN THE CITY. While many individuals and families throughout Chicago eventually make a home in the suburbs of Chicagoland and beyond, the people of Park believe God has specifically called them to the urban centers of Chicago proper. It is their desire to see the city renewed as people who call Park home live life on mission. They believe community transformation and renewal begins on a single street in a single neighborhood and ripples out from there until the city is transformed.
Position Description
The culture of the worship ministry at Park LP is quite healthy. However, they lack a strategic and invested leader to move them towards new levels of effectiveness, creativity, and connection. The culture of Lincoln Park is made up of young adults, families and professionals who live and do life in the city.
It’s important that Park LP find a committed, invested, spiritual and musical leader who will build, train, develop, disciple and genuinely care for others. Park LP desires a leader who is passionate about team building and possesses a communication style that speaks life into people, bringing out the best in them. This person will possess strong instrumental and vocal skills.
This leader will bring oversight, management, and visionary leadership to Park LP’s Worship & Creative Ministry. They will serve as a worship leader for weekend gatherings while continuing to raise up a team around them, having a desire to give leadership away. This person will work closely with the teaching team in the growth and expansion of creativity within the context of weekend services.
Park LP would love to have a leader who would also contribute in areas of pastoral leadership and discipleship as well.
