Salem Church has a rich ministry history of impacting lives in the greater Dayton region. The church has been reaching people for 125 years and has adapted and grown with an ever-changing ministry approach to reach lost people for Jesus.
In 2019, Salem Church was certified as a Best Christian Workplace by the Best Christian Workplaces Institute. Salem was recognized for a “Flourishing workplace culture.” Salem Church of God continues to move forward with a clear calling to impact its community with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
Church or Org Description
Salem Church sits on a 60-acre campus in a 120,000 square foot facility, located near the interchange of I-70 and I-75. They have been moving in a forward direction for the last ten years.
Steve Southards became the Lead Pastor in 2014, and the church has doubled in attendance over the last seven years. At the end of 2021, Salem averaged over 1,400 in weekend attendance online and in-person. The steady numerical growth has coincided with continued efforts to refine and focus ministry areas, including worship and missional impact in the community.
A high value of establishing healthy and effective team culture resonates at the core of this fellowship. Giving in 2021 was 3% over budget, with almost $200,000 being given away for Outreach and Mission. Salem Church continues to refocus local and global missions and outreach, making an impact with many local and global missions partners. They are involved in providing meals for families, backpack fairs for children, tornado relief assistance, and continually looking to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the community.
Position Description
Salem Church has refined its worship style to a contemporary worship expression in recent years. As new leadership comes on board, the church is committed to a continued progression of modern worship that is immersive and impacting. Investments were recently made to improve technical capabilities. Future plans call for continuing enhancements to the worship environment, built on a focus that is always geared towards authentic worship.
Salem Church has a great foundation of musicians in place. The people are hungry for more of God in the worship gatherings in a fresh way. We are looking for the right ministry leader who can go the way, show the way and bring others along with them on the journey. The team is ready to take new steps as an impacting modern worship culture, but they need the right leader to guide them.
There is a tremendous opportunity to lead the Worship Arts Ministry into a new season with a fresh vision and a modern approach. We are looking for a well-rounded Worship Arts Leader who can call people further into God’s presence while developing a holistic team approach in worship and production volunteers.
